The Holidays 2010

It is so great that Chris and I are both teachers and can enjoy 2 whole weeks off of work together for the holidays! We are very blessed! Week 1 of the break actually went by pretty slow. We hung around the house mostly and finished up a few last minute gifts we needed to get before Christmas. Friday, Christmas Eve, we went and had Christmas with Chris' family during the day! We had a great time getting the whole family together and mingling for a little while. After that, we went to my mom's house and had Christmas Eve with my whole side of the family. Again, great time hanging with family...this time of year is wonderful for that very reason.

Christmas morning for us was pretty uneventful at our house since our Christmas present to each other this year was new floors, a new TV, and a new TV stand we got in early December. After getting ready, we went to my mom's house, opened presents over there, and had a great lunch/dinner of turkey and dressing! mmmmmm!

Week 2 of the break flew by, however! Before we knew it, it was already Friday, New Years Eve. We headed out to our friends' Mario and Jenn's house, and had a great time. Mario fixed a great dinner for all of us and we just talked and drank (except for me, of course). At midnight we toasted with some Champagne, and sparkling pomegranate juice for me...and then we went home soon after.

We love the holidays at our house and in our family. To me, it is always such a bummer to have to take down the tree and decorations. But we are definitely looking forward to next year and all the new excitement that will be in our house with a baby! Times will be different for sure! Can't wait! :)
